Collections agency owner started the hard way

At 20, Krista Walsh couldn’t hold down a job.

Walsh had studied to be a dental assistant but was fired three times in six months.

“I didn’t like taking directions,” she said in an interview Tuesday from Montague, P.E.I.

“I guess I’m a better leader than a follower.”

Unfazed by a rocky start to her career, Walsh took her confident swagger to her father’s startup heating and furnace repair company.
